AP: What was it like making this album?

STEWART: I love the whole process of live performances. I love recording. I loved it when we recorded this album. It was such a joy. We didn’t have any fights or arguments or anything like that. It was pure joy, and I think that’s what it feels like when you listen to it. It was all recorded live in Jules’ studio, which isn’t very big. We had 18 people in there, so all the solos were performed live.

AP: Was it a liberation to perform songs from that era when songwriters were a separate entity?
